On completion of this book you shall be able to
• Recognise and comply with safe working practices, environment
regulation and housekeeping.
• Plan & organize the work to make job as per specification
applying different types of basic fitting operations such as
marking, hack sawing, filing, drilling and check for the dimen-
sional accuracy.
• Set different shaped jobs on different chuck ( independent and self
chuck) and demonstrate conventional lathe machine operation,
observing standard operation practice, on different shaped com-
ponents.
• Prepare different cutting tool to produce jobs to appropriate
accuracy by performing different turning operation like turning,
facing, boring, chamfering, reaming, knurling etc.,.
• Test the alignment of lathe by checking different parameters and
adjust the tool post for truing purpose, alignment of Centres.
